Since IMVU closed down the file sales forum, I had to move my file sales to a group.
We have a nice amount of members but always welcome more.
We can chat and have fun, it's not all about the files :)
Come see us!

I have a neat little product that uses flash.
It's a 3d card, with a front and back, and two stand spots.
When you stand on it a flash widget pops up. It has animated text that you can select on a config page. The widget can be textured as can the card.
I think people are afraid of flash items because they seem hard to derive from, there's sometimes a lot of instructions to read but once you try it one time you see how easy it is.
I hope the card takes off because it's a neat idea and really not difficult to derive from.

There's the link in case anyone wants to check out a new way to send greetings to people!
I had an hour with Matt the other day over Skype looking at the new in client previewer and was very impressed with it so far - anyone else had a look?
The interface is in many ways similar to the existing previewer so we won't have to learn from scratch. There's cool new bits, like being able to load your product scene up from your inventory for testing and screenies, being able to make a new mesh available for derivation only; not having to export and load xrfs, animation triggers extracted and listed for use automatically (no need to list them in your description). Being told your derivation costs up front rather than waiting until submission.
Mesh theft by breaking the derivation chain will not be possible, and, get this, deriving and submitting a product unchanged will not be possible either!
This is why we are having the problems we are having, I received this homepage message today from imvu...
"Our LARGEST EVER 2-Hour Sale starts today at 4pm PDT (7pm EDT)! As one of our favorite customers, you'll get a whopping 35% OFF CREDITS in the Credit Store. This offer is good for two hours ONLY, so go to the Credit Store soon for super cheap credits!"
"Why aren't you buying much any more?" is getting asked a lot lately. I have to say I find it very distressing. Not being asked that, but the fact that people are having to ask.
The reason we don't seem to be buying so much any more is that the reseller portion of the credit market has shrunk considerably compared to imvu's.
We are actually buying and selling as many credits as we ever have. We are selling the same amount of credits as we were a year ago.
However, the end users are buying a lot more credits than ever before and what should have happened in that reseller sales should have increased exponentially along with the sales. And they haven't.
One reason is all the money off sales imvu holds nowadays, sometimes they actually undercut resellers.
Another reason is that more and more new users don't use the catalog to shop, they use the in client shopping page. And therefore they don't even know that credit resellers exist; they never see our advertising, because shoutouts no longer show in the client.
Thus the customers are buying lots of credits from imvu, spending them on creator products and the creators find themselves with nowhere to sell their credits because resellers are not getting the customers they should.
This is why all resellers are struggling to meet the needs of the creators, and we hate the situation. I think we need a campaign to get advertising for resellers.
